Applications have opened for grants to build or upgrade community halls, meeting spaces, local hubs, and sporting facilities.
A $3.75 million total funding pool is available under the Multicultural Connect Grants program for organisations that can match the Queensland Government grant dollar-for-dollar.
The grants are available to not-for-profit and charitable organisations or local government bodies which are actively operating in Queensland and supporting culturally diverse peoples.
The funds must be used to build or upgrade community facilities such as community halls, meeting spaces, community hubs and community sporting facilities.
There are two categories:
Category A – Small to medium grants of between $10,000 and $100,000 to support projects expected to commence in December 2026.
Category B – Large grants from $100,001 up to $500,000 for projects expected to commence in June 2027.
Minister for Multiculturalism Fiona Simpson said the Multicultural Connect Grants program was focused on delivering facilities where people could connect, access services, celebrate their culture and genuinely feel a sense of belonging.
“These community-led infrastructure projects must be focused on increasing community participation, strengthening social connection, encouraging cross-cultural understanding, or delivering local services and events,” she said.
The $5 million Multicultural Connect program delivered $1.25 million in the first funding round to support six community-led infrastructure projects in the Gold Coast region, Logan, Far North, South Burnett, and Central-West Queensland.
Second round applications are open now and close August 30, 2026.
