Experienced hotel executive Chantel Messaoudi is the new general manager of Rydges South Bank Brisbane.
EVT Group General Manager of Hotels and Resorts Callum Kennedy said Ms Messaoudi brought 30 years of global experience across the Middle East, Asia Pacific, UK and Australia.
Mr Kennedy said this included 11 hotel openings and senior commercial leadership roles across sales, marketing and revenue.
He said the appointment marked a return to Rydges for Ms Messaoudi, who most recently managed the luxury Bahrain hotel Conrad Bahrain Financial Harbour, as she previously held a national sales role.
“Rydges South Bank has been a key part of Brisbane’s hospitality and events landscape for more than 30 years.
“Chantel brings a strong track record of leadership, commercial acumen and guest-focused excellence, making her exceptionally well placed to lead the hotel into its next phase of growth and success.”
Mr Kennedy said Rydges South Bank Brisbane had undergone multiple refurbishments and was currently preparing for further investment ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Ms Messaoudi said Rydges South Bank had an unmatched location and carried 30 years of significant history in the city.
“The investment pipeline ahead of 2032 is real, and there is a clear opportunity to elevate the property to a higher level across revenue, guest experience and team performance – that work starts now.”
