Guardian Childcare & Education has announced a 4.75 percent pay increase for its educators and teachers.
The increase follows a decision to pass on the full amount from the Fair Work Commission’s recent national wage review despite teams already being paid above-award wages.
Guardian CEO Warren Bright said the organisation believed educators and teachers should be properly valued.
“Our teams do incredibly important work every day,” Mr Bright said.
“They teach with purpose, support each child’s development, build confidence and help children discover what they are capable of. Families see, and really value, that work every day and so do we.
“Passing on the full increase is one practical way we can show that we value our team’s skill, care and professionalism.”
Mr Bright said cost-of-living pressures were real for teams and their families.
Guardian wanted to be a place where great educators and teachers felt valued, supported and proud of the work they did.
“Children thrive when they are surrounded by familiar educators and teachers who know them, understand them and believe in what they can become,” he said.
“That consistency matters. It helps children feel safe, confident and ready to learn.”
Guardian is one of Australia’s largest private providers of high-quality early childhood education and care and operates more than 170 early learning centres across Australia.
