Here’s our list of What’s On for the July 2026 school holidays in Brisbane and surrounds.

Brisbane

Teenagers can make their magazine ideas come to life and build a unique mini publication at the Museum of Brisbane. Artist Izzy Heaton will guide this creative hands-on workshop for 10-15 year-olds. From July 1 – 8 at 2pm-4pm. Tickets are $30 plus a small booking fee. Bookings essential. For more information, click here.

Architecture, art, geometry and nature are brought together in an archiKID workshop at the Brisbane Powerhouse. It has been designed to discover how simple rules found in nature can generate complex forms. The outcome will be a large-scale collective installation created by all participants and displayed as a public artwork. Designed for all ages. On July 4 at 2pm. Moreton Bay

It’ll be cuteness overload when woolly alpacas and babydoll lambs visit Moreton Bay libraries throughout the school holidays. The program is free, but bookings are essential. For more information, click here.

The Leslie Patrick Park All Abilities Playground now caters to those with no- or low-vision with a braille trail, sensory hangout, vibration post and sensory plants. Residents with lived experience, Vision Australian, speech pathologists, and occupational therapists were consulted on the new $500,000 space. Open from July 1.

Sunshine Coast

The Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct in the Glasshouse Mountains is offering pony rides, a petting zoo and traditional activities such as butter making and wooden games. On Friday, July 3 from 10am-1pm. To register, click here.

Swap screen time for green time at the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden where children can explore the Whipbird Playscape which features shrub cubbies, robe bridges and balance logs. Free entry. From 7am-5pm daily. For details, click here.

Gold Coast

Basketball legends the Harlem Globe Trotters will bring their trick shots and jaw-dropping dunks to the coast with their 100 Year Tour. The Globetrotters were founded in 1926 by Abe Saperstein and are still going strong. On July 2 at 7pm. For tickets click here.
