The Queensland Government has announced new appointments to the Board of Legal Aid Queensland (LAQ) and the Queensland Law Reform Commission (QLRC).

Darren Robinson joins the LAQ board and Dr Bridget Cullen joins the QLRC.

Mr Robinson is Director of North Queensland criminal law practice Salt Legal. He was a Queensland Police Officer for twenty years before becoming a solicitor.

Dr Cullen has many years of senior decision-making experience including at QCAT and most recently as a Senior Member at the Commonwealth Administrative Review Tribunal.

She joined the Bar in 2000 and has taught Evidence Law at Griffith University for more than 25 years and spent more than a decade in private practice.

Attorney-General Deb Frecklington congratulated the two appointees on their new roles, which were approved by the Governor in Council last week.

“I am confident their skills and commitment will be invaluable in helping ensure the legal needs of the community continue to be met into the future,” she said.
