It’s the end of an era with the last movie to show at the Tivoli Drive-In Theatre at Ipswich tomorrow night.
The theatre, which opened in 1976, will screen Takeover: After Dark starring Billy Zane and Quavo. Tickets include live entertainment and street food.
A statement on the website says after so many unforgettable years under the stars, it is with gratitude and sadness that the Tivoli will be closing its gates.
“What began as a simple place to watch movies from the comfort of your car grew into something so much bigger – a gathering place for families, friends and neighbours,” the statement said.
“A place where memories were made, first dates were had, kids grew up, and communities came together.”
