A new 92-unit social and affordable housing complex at Chermside has been released for Queenslanders experiencing or at risk of homelessness, as well as essential workers needing affordable rentals.

The project is part of a $5.6 billion social and community State Government housing plan.

The homes are designed with accessibility and ease of living in mind, with wider hallways, step-free access, safer bathrooms and flexible layouts that support older people, and those with mobility needs.

Residents will benefit from communal spaces and on-site tenancy support to help them maintain a stable home and build independence.

The development was delivered in partnership with community housing provider Brisbane Housing Company and their consortium partner, QIC Limited, with financing from Housing Australia, and Australian Retirement Trust.
