Australia Day 2026 is expected to be bigger than ever. If you’re wondering what’s on around Greater Brisbane for the long weekend, here is a round-up of events and celebrations:

Join party goers with the Brisbane Australia Day 2026 Bar Crawl featuring DJ sets, drink specials and group vibes across Fortitude Valley venues, starting at Finney Isles. On January 24 from 7pm–2am. For tickets, click here.

Fitness lovers and outdoor explorers can join a social bike ride along a scenic section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from Fernvale to Esk. Open to all fitness levels. January 26 at 6am. For tickets click here.

The Great Australian Bites is a celebration of local food and entertainment. Family -friendly activities include a silent disco, and cooking demonstrations. January 26 from 2pm-7.30pm at the Riverside Green, South Bank. Free entry.

Leave the heat behind and join the Australia Day Cruise for an afternoon of whale watching on the water. The three-hour journey includes grazing boards, a barbecue, and coastal views. On January 26 from 1pm-4pm leaving from Redcliffe Jetty. For tickets, click here.

The legendary 50-metre slip’n’slide will be out again at this year’s Aussie Day at Sandstone Point Hotel. Join for lawn games, live tunes and family activities. January 26, 10:00 am–4:00 pm. Free entry but $10 slide passes must be booked.

Celebrate Australia Day as key Brisbane landmarks — Story Bridge, Victoria Bridge, City Hall and more — are illuminated in green and gold. Free to view at night throughout the city. January 26, after sunset.
