A uniquely curved Sunshine Coast hilltop property is Queensland’s top home, after taking out the top award at the Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards.

Master Builders Deputy CEO and Awards Ambassador Sue-Ann Fresneda said Horseshoe Hill was named Queensland’s House of the Year at award night on Saturday (October 11) at The Star Gold Coast.

Ms Fresneda said judges rewarded Jager Build for the exceptional level of technical expertise and precision in the home’s construction, demonstrating a mastery of both traditional and contemporary building techniques.

She said the stunning property also earned the Jager Build team best Individual Home over $10 million.

“This year’s entries pushed boundaries in every direction. From coastal marvels to rural retreats, our members continue to prove that no terrain is too tough when you’ve got vision, skill and a commitment to excellence.”

Ms Fresneda said eligible winners from the Queensland Awards would now be put forward for Master Builders Australia’s National Excellence in Building & Construction Awards, to be held in Adelaide on November 28.

She said other winners at the Queensland awards, which were held on the Gold Coast for the first time in their 39-year history, included Innovative Design and Build Group which won the President’s Award for Gold Coast Hinterland retreat, Illalangi, while Brisbane landmark Queen’s Wharf Integrated Resort Development earned Multiplex Constructions Qld the Project of the Year Award, and best Tourism and Leisure Facilities over $10 million.

Hutchinson Builders swept the pool on the night with four Awards, including best Retail Facilities up to $5 million for Hungry Jacks Gracemere; Residential Building (high-rise over 3 storeys) up to $20 million for Marella Residences; best Community Accommodation for The Verge Stage 3; and Commercial Refurbishment/Renovation over $30 million for Venue.
