The Brisbane Portrait Prize finalists exhibition celebrates the city’s portrait artists and their sitters until November 9 at the State Library of Queensland.
The overall $50,000 prize winner is Gus Eagleton for his portrait In the Studio with Fintan Magee.
Now in its seventh year, the competition is designed to showcase the best in contemporary portraiture, and capture the lives and stories of the people of Brisbane.
The 2025 portraits showcase a myriad of painting styles from hyper-realism with minute detail, to abstract forms, and photographs that freeze a moment in time.
