Some of the biggest events at this year’s signature Sunshine Coast food and drink festival have already sold out, but organisers are confident there is still plenty on the menu to tempt the taste buds.

While almost 20 percent of The Curated Plate program is fully booked, there are still more than 40 events with tickets available.

Festival Culinary Director and renowned chef Peter Kuruvita said the event, which runs from July 25 until August 3, was one Queensland’s great celebrations of culinary excellence, local produce and the environment.

“Some signature events have already sold out, but there’s still plenty on the table,” Mr Kuruvita said.

“The Curated Plate is more than just a food festival – it’s a celebration of place, produce and people,” he said.

“This region has such an incredible story to tell through food, and I’m proud to be part of a program that brings local growers, chefs and communities together in such a meaningful way.”
He said some of the events at the Sunshine Coast Council-supported festival, which still had availability, included:

  • Asian Food Festival at Spicers Tamarind Retreat: A delicious fusion of flavours with some of the region’s best Asian restaurants, all in one lush rainforest setting.
  • Picnic on the Green at The Doonan: Lounge on your own picnic rug, enjoy a gourmet hamper for two, filled with fresh local produce from Eumundi, Chevallum and Glass House Mountains.
  • Toro’s Sunshine Coast Meets Spain: Mediterranean flavours with a local twist across a 10-course sharing meal, drinks and cocktails using Sunshine Coast produce with Spanish-inspired concepts and a Flamenco show for entertainment.
  • Feast: Seed to Plate at Alsahwa Estate: A stunning new venue where you can wander through the beauty of Botanica, gather in the Edible Garden before taking a seat at their Harvest Table for a three-course celebration.

“This year’s program is peppered with flavour-packed events under $50, from twilight tastings and local market days to family picnics and paddock-to-pint experiences,” Mr Kuruvita said.

He said food and drink lovers could also register for free events, including:

  • Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry Twilight Markets: A community-first evening of grower stalls, chef demonstrations and tastings celebrating the region’s food bowl.
  • Matso’s Sunshine Coast – Night Food Market: Think Asian inspired food trucks, a playground for the kids and live music. Come along and be part of Matso’s brand new brew launch.
  • Mooloolaba Seafood Market Day: An afternoon of popup seafood stalls cooking up delicious $5 bite plates of Wild Caught seafood from scallops to spanner crab, sushi and tuna sashimi.
  • Feel Good Frothy Rodeo: Saddle up for an arvo of brews, bold flavours and bucking bulls at Your Mates Brewing. With live music and a best dressed competition, round up your mates for one wild ride.
