One of Australia’s greatest theatre performers Anthony Warlow has teamed up with the original Yellow Wiggle Greg Page in a new production of the legendary musical, Annie.

Warlow plays Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, a role which he has played twice before in Australia to great acclaim, and in which he made his Broadway debut.

His stellar career includes lead roles in The Phantom of the Opera (The Phantom), Chicago (Billy Flynn), The Wizard of Oz (The Wizard), Les Miserables (Enjolras), My Fair Lady (Henry Higgins), The Secret Garden (Archibald Craven), Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson), and A Little Night Music (Fredrik Egerman).

Annie will be Page’s first musical theatre role. He plays President Roosevelt which will allow him to use the musical and vocal talents that made him famous as part of the children’s entertainment group The Wiggles.

The award-winning Annie the musical is based a 1924 comic strip which ran for more than 80 years. The musical was first performed in 1977 when it opened on Broadway. Its iconic score features classics like It’s a Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, and Tomorrow.

The story is primarily one of hope and resilience in the face of adversity, as orphan Annie searches for her birth parents and is taken in by billionaire Oliver Warbucks.
