Brisbane performer Amy Lehpamer will reprise her role as Dusty Springfield, when the life of the legendary singer is showcased in a short-run show in June.

Presented by Prospero Arts, Dusty The Musical – In Concert, will hit the stage at the Concert Hall, QPAC Brisbane for six performances from June 5.

Prospero Arts Managing Director and Producer Hayley Johnson said Lehpamer was one of Australia’s most celebrated musical theatre performers and is fresh from her critically acclaimed role in the hit musical & Juliet.

“Brisbane-based Lehpamer, known for her standout performances in Once, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Sound of Music and The Production Company’s Dusty The Musical – In Concert in 2016, will bring iconic 60s soul singer Dusty Springfield back to life in this spectacular concert production,” Ms Johnson said.

She said joining her on stage was a 17-person cast that blends nationally renowned creatives and artists with the very best of Queensland’s rising stars.

“Prospero Arts was established in 2022 with a mission to nurture the careers of up-and-coming local talents by providing opportunities for them to work, in Brisbane, with creatives and artists of a national calibre.”

Ms Johnson said audiences would see Queenslanders Kat Harrison, Chris Kellett, Jade Delminguez and Justin Anderson share the stage with an exciting line-up of performers from across the country, including Elethea Sartorelli, versatile Perth triple threat, playing the role of Kay and understudying the lead role of Dusty.

She said the production brought some of Australia’s top creative minds to Brisbane, with acclaimed Director Jason Langley and choreographer Michael Ralph working alongside local Musical Director Brendan Murtagh and Musical Supervisor David Young.

Dusty The Musical – In Concert is a celebration of the life of Mary O’Brien, the introverted Londoner who shattered norms and became a trailblazing musical icon as Dusty Springfield.”
