Former Queensland Police Commissioner Ian Stewart is the new chair of Crime Stoppers Queensland.
CEO David Hansen said Mr Stewart was a seasoned director, executive, and consultant with extensive expertise in leadership and governance.
“With qualifications in business and public policy, Ian champions engagement, trust, and mutual respect,” Mr Hansen said.
He said Mr Stewart, who was Queensland Police Commissioner from 2012- 2019, succeeded Greg Beale, who stepped down from the Chairperson role in December.
Mr Hansen also announced the addition of Stuart Waddington to the Board, as Treasurer.
He said the other Board member were Assistant Commissioner Brian Connors, representing the Commissioner, and Tim Ryan, with Andrew Jones, and Assistant Commissioner Katherine Innes, also stepping down last year.
“As we step into 2025, these changes to our Board mark an exciting new chapter for Crime Stoppers Queensland.
“With fresh perspectives and proven leadership, we are well-positioned to build on our successes and continue delivering for the safety of Queensland communities.”
